Waltham wildlife control tip of the month:

How to get Pigeon out of your attic

Pigeons can cause a lot of damage on the attic. Not only that their droppings are smelly and they make a lot of mess, they can also be very harmful to humans. They contain fungi and bacteria that can cause diseases in humans, so getting rid of pigeons from the attic is a Waltham pest control priority. What to do about them then? There are several things you can do.

1. The best thing to do would be to repair all entrances where they can enter. That means to repair all holes on the roof or on the places roof connects to a wall. They are small and can easily find their way through small holes, so you have to be thorough.

2. Consider repellents. They can come in many forms. Placing spikes or broken glass on the places on roofs where they land is one option. It will not harm the animal, but it can make them go away. Sticky bird gel can also do the trick. Some people even try spices like crushed dried chili peppers. There is different kind of Waltham animal trapping balloons that have reflexive surfaces which scares them away. Even Waltham animal control party snaps can help because they explode and scare the pigeon away. Scarecrows in shape of an owl or a hawk can help, but have in mind that all these solutions are just temporary, because pigeons will soon get used to them.

3. Eliminate food sources. Pigeons will naturally leave the place where they cannot find food. You can do that once you got rid of them in other ways, or as a thing to do to get rid of them in the first place.

4. Trapping. Lethal Waltham wildlife removal traps are illegal since you can kill any type of bird with it, even an endangered species. You can try live traps. Using them is relatively easy. Feed the pigeons for a couple of days, then place an open trap there for a few days and then set the trap. You can catch a lot of them with a single trap. Problem is, what to do once they are caught. You have to kill them because they will easily find their way back if you release them.

5. Poisoning. That is one thing that is not advisable. Waltham exterminator Poison can kill a lot of other different creatures, and those could be endangered animals or even your pets. Be very careful if you use them.
